Our Mission Victorian Hospital Auxiliary of Kaslo is a dedicated group of volunteers who donate their time and energy for the benefit of the "Victorian Community Health Centre of Kaslo". Our mission statement is:   to aid in comfort and welfare of the hospital patients in any manner that is practical, and acceptable, including the raising of monies for the purpose of this objective only   to assist in the fostering of good relations between the hospital and the public   to cooperate with the hospital administration From the Past to the Present The hospital auxiliary, was started in 1902 so that Kaslo and the surrounding area would have their own hospital. Throughout the years to the present, the hospital auxiliary members have been steadfast in their efforts to raise monies for the Kaslo hospital and its residents. During the years as circumstances changed, the auxiliary too has adapted and continued to support the needs of our facility. VHKAS is a Registered Charity and provides receipts for donations of $10.00 or more. Fundraising Fundraising is an ongoing process, and includes such projects as hosting Teas, Fashion Shows, Oktoberfest, and the Thrift Shop. Proceeds go toward providing non-budgeted, necessary items for the facility. We also provide a bursary of $1,000.00 to a student registered at an accredited, post secondary institution in the medical field.    The Tree of Life, was created to recognize patrons of the VCHC. Donations of one hundred dollars, or more, are recognized, by an engraved plate, which forms a "leaf" on this beautiful, unique, and highly visible, symbol located in the lobby of the VCHC. The inscription, to be engraved, on each leaf is provided by the donor. It may be in memory of a loved one, a Dedication, or any other short text.            *  *   *  *       We are a very friendly, congenial group that meets on the first Monday of every month to plan fundraising strategies, do crafts and socialize. New members are always welcome to join us and participate in this very worthwhile and meaningful volunteer organization.
